Andy has been practicing as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist since the summer of 2013 in Yamba, NSW. He has been running his own gym-based business since 2017 on the southern Gold Coast, working predominantly with those experiencing pain and chronic disease.

In 2020, Andy started his Master of Mental Health with one question driving most of his research, to integrate evidence as to why exercise is good for our mental health. A significant part of this came with understanding why and how trauma-informed care will transfer to allied health practice in an ethical, meaningful, and practical way. His talk will cover key elements of research in mental health from a range of areas.

This talk will give you an evidence-based understanding of the relevance of trauma-informed principles for those working in private practice. This presentation is just part of a more comprehensive workshop that when will be developed. Trauma-informed models will be a valuable part of our future healthcare system, so be sure to start learning about them soon!
